Visible United States phone unlock guide
Visible's current U.S. device-unlock rules are summarized from its official policy, including eligibility, request method and the difference between a network lock and device compatibility.
Policy reviewed · Last verified 2026-10-02
Visible's current policy uses purchase-date-specific rules. Devices bought before 20 January 2026 generally follow the earlier 60-day automatic rule; later purchases are subject to the current 365-day request rules and stated exceptions.
Carrier overview
Visible has a current public U.S. device-unlock source. Only the carrier can confirm whether a particular IMEI and account meet that policy.

Does Visible lock phones?
Visible documents that at least some devices it sells can be network locked until its conditions are met.
Who is eligible for an unlock?
- The device must have the required paid active service under the policy that applied when it was purchased.
- The account and device must satisfy Visible's ordinary-use and fraud controls.
- The device must not be reported lost or stolen.
How to request or confirm an unlock
- Check the purchase-date section in Visible's current policy and use Visible Care chat when a qualifying device does not unlock as described.
- Use only the official link or verified support channel and do not post the full IMEI publicly.
- Wait for carrier confirmation, restart the phone and then test a compatible non-carrier SIM or eSIM.
iPhone, Android and unlock codes
A network unlock does not remove a screen passcode, Apple Activation Lock, Google Factory Reset Protection or an IMEI block.
Do not expect every phone to use a numerical unlock code.
SIM and eSIM information
Visible publishes eSIM support, but plan and device eligibility still need to be checked separately from lock status.
If the unlock or SIM test fails
- Confirm the device is fully paid where the policy requires it and that the account is in good standing.
- If another SIM still fails, check compatibility, APN, VoLTE and coverage before treating the error as a failed unlock.
Questions
Is the Visible United States unlock policy confirmed?
The claims on this page are tied to the cited carrier or regulator sources. Recheck the official policy before acting because requirements can change.
Does Visible use an unlock code?
The reviewed process does not describe a routine user-entered code. A carrier-side or original-carrier process may apply instead.
Can GetMyUnlock approve an unlock?
No. Only the carrier can confirm eligibility and perform or authorize a network unlock.
